A distinguising feature of this commercial building with its cast-iron storefront is the vertical groupings of the windows under arches.  This widely used design was introduced by H.H. Richardson, and developed by Henri Louis Sullivan, both noted architects.  The pilasters with ornate capitals seperating window bays are Neo-Classical Revival elements.  This structure was built in 1898.
