This Italianate building faced the New York Central Railroad Station.
Constructed in two phases, the Crown Hotel was one of a series of
buildings erected here between 1869-1890 in response to the railroad.
Notice the fine brickwork around the windows and doors, and ornamental
metal cornices in paired brackets.
