Originally built for banker, investor and railroad promoter Hamilton
White, the house was one of the many large residences belonging to
prominent families, which surrounded Fayette Park. The Greek Revival
building was extensively renovated in 1980 and is now used for
commercial and office space. The house is entered on The National
Registration of Historical Places.
