Provisions Bakery and Restaurant, located in the Armory Square District of Syracuse, is sponsored by the Office of Mental Health. Provisions offers the community fine food and service in an appealing atmosphere. Syracuse restaurant reviewer, Yolanda Wright, described Provisions in the Dining Out" column as follows, "Provisions Bakery in Armory Square is a star-studded indulgence that opens early with eggs, pancakes and wickedly wonderful fruit muffins and danishes at bargain prices."
Trainees are accepted based on the degree of interest expressed in returning to competitive employment. Trainees work as cooks, bakers, dishwashers, janitors, waiters, counter people and bookkeepers. Producing a product that is sought after in a competitive business atmosphere is invaluable in improving self-esteem and encouraging independence and personal development.
