This corner has been the site of several hotels. The present building,
tallest in the district, was designed by Syracuse archtiect Gustavus
Young. It was used as a hotel from the time of its construction
(1927) until 1986. The Hawthorn Suites took up residence here just a
few years ago and have provided visitors with a convenient and lavish
