About the 2013 Tour

The seventh annual Downtown Living Tour is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, 2013, from noon to 6 p.m.  The Downtown Living Tour has always been an effective event that markets the uniqueness and diversity of residential units in downtown. Last year's event was a huge success and sold over 2,100 tickets!

Find out why Downtown Syracuse has become the neighborhood  of choice as the doors are opened to adaptive reuse and new construction projects featuring market-rate and luxury apartments, live/work spaces and "green" condos. The tour highlights both occupied and available units in several of downtown's historic renovations in neighborhoods such as Armory Square, Hanover Square and the Heart of Downtown. The tour offers something for everyone, from young professionals and empty nesters looking to live downtown, as well as those interested in historic preservation, interior design, architecture, and urban living.

The tour is designed to be a walking tour, but two free shuttles will be running a special tour route as well.  Guarantee your ticket by purchasing advance sale tickets for $12 (which can be purchased online through May 16th).  Day of event tickets are $15.  All tickets can be picked up at tour headquarters, the Pike Block, the day of the tour between 12 and 4 p.m.

The tour is presented by the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc., a private, not-for-profit, professional downtown management organization, representing all property owners and tenants within the central business district. It is the hope of the Downtown Committee that this tour will provide others with an experience of all that downtown has to offer, and build awareness of the importance of residential development as a key element in a vibrant and successful downtown, as well as increase awareness of the revitalization taking place in Syracuse. In 2011, the Downtown Living Tour was recognized by the International Downtown Association with a Downtown Merit Award for the tour's success in raising awareness about downtown development.
