Celebrating its 40th year in downtown Syracuse, the AmeriCU Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival welcomed 150 artists from 27 U.S. states and Canada, and 50,000 visitors for a spectacular three day showcase, July 30 to August 1. Known for its exceptional art and contemporary crafts, the event is highly respected, nationally. With 26 more artists than last year, the festival won praise for its quality exhibits, representing a range of media by some of the finest artists in the country. Diverse multicultural entertainment, from bagpipes to Flamenco to a hula-hoop demonstration, added to the festival atmosphere.
The AmeriCU Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival was an anchor event in the Orange Line Gallery ArtsWeek celebration, which also featured the Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, the Syracuse New Times Sidewalk Art Competition, the Syracuse University Bookstore Book Fair, and dozens of other activities.
