Downtown Syracuse has a number of compelling selling points that make it a good place to do business. Downtown Syracuse is centrally located, houses 27,000 employees, is home to a rapidly growing residential population of 2,700, features the Centro Transit Hub, is adjacent to University Hill's 20,000 students and is becoming a center for tourism and convention business. The Downtown Committee's retail recruitment event on Thursday, October 18 showed prospective retailers the retail opportunities that exist in Downtown Syracuse and help them locate a business here. Panel sessions included:
