Art in the Windows Stirs Interest in Available Retail Space, Showcases Local Talent
Wednesday, June 29, 2016
The Downtown Committee of Syracuse, Inc. is excited to introduce a new program called Art in the Windows, designed to showcase available storefronts, while spotlighting the talents of local artists.
Here's How it Works: The Downtown Committee matches artwork contributed by local galleries with downtown property owners who are interested in enlivening their storefront space(s). The program strives to beautify Downtown's streetscape, generating foot traffic and interest in the potential of available retail storefronts. The program also raises awareness about our arts community, reaching Downtown residents, shoppers, employees and visitors.
This week, VIP Structures began hosting the first-ever Art in the Windows in the Pike Block, located at 308, 310, and 320 South Salina Street. The artwork is from ArtRage gallery, featuring pieces by numerous local photographers.
ArtRage Gallery is located at 505 Hawley Avenue in Syracuse.
Do You Want to Get Involved? If you have a ground-floor retail property that is not currently leased, please call the Downtown Committee at (315) 470-1958 to be matched with available artwork.
*Please note, eligible properties must have large storefront windows and agree to display the artwork for a minimum of one month. At this time, eligible artwork is limited to donated reproductions that can be easily installed for temporary display.
