CNY Artist Initiative: Gallery Conversation with Tal Placido

Join CNY Artist Initiative featured artist Tal Placido for a gallery discussion to learn more about her work and special exhibition, Tal Placido: Meeting Place. Light refreshments to follow. Free with Museum admission.

Tal Placido is a multidisciplinary artist, currently working at the intersection of painting, material research, and cultural memory. Placido’s large-scale abstract paintings draw from personal myth, intuitive process, and historical research. With a background in music, fashion, and design, Placido brings a multi-dimensional sensibility to her visual work, shaped by both instinct and inquiry. In 2024, she presented her solo exhibition Actor, Agent, Author at Art Gotham Gallery in New York City, and her work has been featured at VOLTA New York, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, and in publications including Vogue, Business of Home, and Aspire Design Home. She lives and works in Central New York.

The Everson CNY Artist Initiative is a competitive program that highlights the multi-faceted talents of regional artists. Each year, Everson curators select artists to display their work in solo exhibitions at the Museum. Selections are based on the innovative quality of the work, how the work aligns with the Museum mission, and its relevance to the community.

Michael Brodsky shreds guitar (and occasionally remembers to sing), Ethan Girtz works keyboard magic with his extra fingers, Jacob Cotton drops bass lines deeper than your philosophical phase, and Dominic Colucci somehow keeps this beautiful mess together on drums.
